Feature Film Tension Began Filming in Hvar
On Tuesday, 26 April 2011, on the island of Hvar, the feature live action film Tension began filming. It is directed by Filip Šovagović and written by Ivica Đikić and Robert Perišić.
The film is a satirical paraphrase of the biblical motif of Noah’s Ark. The story begins on the warmest day of the summer, when the Italian fashion designer Giancarlo Mazukel arrives on a Dalmatian island accompanied by his close friend and ‘muse’ – the male model called Teo Andreo. The fashion duo plans to settle on the island, which causes quite a stir among the locals and a clash of two worlds.
Tension is the second feature narrative (after Pušča Bistra from 2005) directed by actor, writer and director Filip Šovagović, who starred in over 40 film and theatre roles and directed and wrote a series of theatre plays, translated and awarded around the world.
The cast of Tension includes Bojan and Goran Navojec, Mijo Jurišić, Mišo Mihočević, Marija Škaričić, Nataša Janjić, Inge Appelt, Miran Kurspahić and Ranko Zidarić, while the former Croatian president Stjepan Mesić makes a cameo appearance.
The film is produced by the company Zona Sova from Zagreb, and is co-funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.
