VAFI’s World Tour: Puerto Rico – Jerusalem – Los Angeles

The best films from the fifth VAFI, the International Festival of Animated Films by Children and Youth Varaždin, after a presentation in Puerto Rico at the ENFOQUE International Film Festival in mid-November this year, are screened next week in Jerusalem at KAGAN Media Centre, and in mid-December in Los Angeles, in one of the most prestigious US museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

VANIMA managers – Hrvoje Selec and Sandra Malenica – are also travelling to Jerusalem, invited by WILD KIDS Animation Studio, whose representatives have visited VAFI festival three times and perceive it as a ‘door to Europe’. In addition to broadening the collaboration with WILD KIDS Studio and a presentation of VAFI festival, VANIMA is also meeting representatives of the Jerusalem Film Fund.

VAFI – the International Festival of Animated Films by Children and Youth Varaždin was launched to make Varaždin, and also Croatia, a place where children, young people, professionals, guests, and all fans of animation will exchange experiences and make new cross-border friendships, where the children and young people could enjoy films, learn something new and socialise during the process. VAFI promotes only universal and lasting values, as well as children and youth’s creativity.

The VANIMA managers’ trip to Jerusalem is co-funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre and its International Collaboration programme.
