The Priest’s Children Coming Soon to Croatian Cinemas

The Priest’s Children, feature-length live-action film by Vinko Brešan, the director of acclaimed comedies How the War Started on My Island and Marshal soon starts cinema distribution across Croatia, distributed by Continental Film.

The plot of The Priest’s Children takes place on a Dalmatian island. Young priest Don Fabijan (Krešimir Mikić) starts to pierce unopened condoms to raise the village birth rate. To that end, he conspires with a simple-minded clerk (Nikša Butijer) and a crazed pharmacist (Dražen Kühn). Together, they secretly destroy all means of birth control on the island. After the initial success, many births and weddings, things begin to complicate. Finally, a bishop visits the island and all hell breaks loose...

The film is based on Mate Matišić’s script and produced by Interfilm. It was co-funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre and backed by Eurimages, Council of Europe’s central film fund.

In the expectation of the upcoming premiere, Continental Film released three trailers: Football, Bowls and Priest’s Children. The poster and high-resolution stills from the film are available on The Priest’s Children’s Facebook page.
