‘New Voices/New Visions’ brings 12 debut feature films that, in Palm Springs, will be having their American premiere. Included in this section are the minority co-productions Our Everyday Life by Ines Tanović and Interruption by Yorgos Zois. Our Everyday Life is a Bosnian-Slovenian-Croatian co-production, where the Croatian co-producer is Spiritus Movens, while Interruption is a Greek-French-Croatian co-production, where the Croatian partner is Jaako Dobra Productions.

The Awards Buzz section features films from 39 countries who were bidding for a Best Foreign Film Oscar Award nomination. In this category, both The High Sun, directed by Dalibor Matanić and Judgement, a Bulgarian-Croatian co-production directed by Stephan Komandarev, will be screened. The High Sun was produced by Zagreb’s Kinorama in co-production with Slovenia’s Gustav Film and SEE Film Pro in Serbia. The Croatian co-producer of The Judgement is Propeler Film. Our Everyday Life, the Bosnian representative, is also being screened in this section. 

It is interesting to note that the ‘New Voices/New Visions’ programme will be screening the Belgian film Paradise Trips, directed by Raf Reyntjens, shot in the region of Gračac, Croatia, in the summer of 2014.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival is one of North America’s biggest festivals, which has 135 000 visitors per year. This year it will screen films from 60 different countries. More information can be found on the festival’s official website.
