Tatjana Božić’s Happily Ever After in Rotterdam’s official competition
The Dutch-Croatian documentary co-production Happily Ever After, directed by Tatjana Božić (Factum) was selected for the competition of the prestigious International Rotterdam Film Festival, whose 43rd edition takes place 22 January thru 2 February 2014.
Director Tatjana Božić lived in Croatia until the war and then moved to the Netherlands. Happily Ever After is her feature debut focusing on her own love life. The film is described as a (tragi)comical attempt of the director to question her previous relationships and thus save the current one. The Croatian co-producer of the film is Factum, and the film was co-funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.
Happily Ever After is one of five so far published (and 15 announced) titles selected for the official competition at the prestigious International Rotterdam Film Festival, where it will compete for the Hivos Tiger Award. The feature-length competition selection in Rotterdam shows first and second films and its selection focuses on genre hybrids and innovative and often avant-garde directing approach. Because of its extremely rich film programme and developed industry section (CineMart), every year Rotterdam attracts a great number of film professionals, which is why it is considered an A-list festival.
The 43rd edition of the International Rotterdam Film Festival takes place 22 January thru 2 February 2014. The rest of the programme will be made public by 15 January. More information is available on the official festival website.
