Hana Jušić’s debut feature film Quit Staring at My Plate has been selected for screening in the 1-2 Competition along with 15 other films. The film premiered in the Venice Days programme at the 23rd Venice International Film Festival where the FEDEORA jury awarded it the Best European Film award. The film is a Croatian-Danish co-production and was written and directed by Hana Jušić. The film stars Mia Petričević, Arijana Čulina, Zlatko Burić and Nikša Butijer, the producer is Ankica Jurić Tilić and Kinorama in co-production with Beofilm (Denmark) and HRT (Croatian Radio Television).

The Free Spirit programme will screen the Serbian-Croatian co-production Train Driver’s Diary, directed by Miloš Radović, and co-produced by Interfilm. The film is Serbia’s candidate for a Best Foreign Film Oscar award nomination. The film premiered at this year’s Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Audience Award.

Zrinko Ogresta’s award-winning film On the Other Side, Croatia’s candidate for a Best Foreign Film Oscar award nomination and candidate for the 29th European Film Awards, will be featured in the Special Screenings programme. The film had its world premiere in the Panorama programme of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival where it won Special Jury Mention from the Europa Art-Cinemas Network. The film is written by Zrinko Ogresta and Mate Matišić and stars Ksenija Marinković and Lazar Ristovski. The producer is Ivan Maloča and Interfilm in co-production with Zillion Film from Belgrade and Croatian Radio Television.

The minority co-production Houston, We Have a Problem! by Žiga Virc will be screening in the Discoveries programme. The feature-documentary is a Slovenian-Croatian-German-Czech-Qatari co-production. The Croatian co-producer is Nukleus Film. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and is the first HBO production in the Adria region.

All films are supported with finances from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.

The 32nd Warsaw Film Festival will screen more than 120 films. The festival will close with Jerome Salle’s The Odyssey, the biopic about legendary Jacques Cousteau, which was partially shot on location in Croatia, with support from the Film/TV production incentives program.
