Croatian films in Official Competition in Montpellier

Dejan Šorak’s latest feature  In the Land of Wonders is competing for a prize  in Official Competition of the 31st Montpellier International Mediterranean Film Festival (October 23rd – November 1st 2009.).

Also shown in the Official programme is a feature film Will Not Stop There directed by Vinko Brešan and four shorts - Dalibor Matanić’s Party, Damir Čučić’s Silent Frame, Boris Poljak’s A Split Watercolour and Ljiljana Resnick’s Sorrow.

In the past several years many Croatian films won prizes at Montpellier among which Branko Schmidt’s The Melon Route, Zrinko Ogresta’s Here, Vinko Brešan’s Marshal Tito’s Spirit, Arsen Anton Ostojić’s Wonderful Night in Split, Rajko Grlić’s Border Post and Dalibor Matanić’s Kino Lika.

The Montpellier Film Festival showcases the best recent films coming from all the shores of the Mediterranean: from Portugal to the Black Sea. Over the past 31 years, the Montpellier Film Festival has earned the reputation of the most important yearly film event on the Mediterranean film scene, with a programme consisting of more than 200 films shown to an audience of over 90,000 people.
