Velvet Terrorists is a film about minor and foiled terrorist plots in former Czechoslovakia. The film focuses on three protangonists. The first one wanted to blow up a decorated stage during a May 1st celebration in the 1970s. The second one planned to assassinate the president and start an anticommunist revolution but his letter to the CIA was so naive that nobody bothered to reply. The third one blew up communist billboards. Once considered criminal, these acts are now viewed as heroic. This film is about our relative views of history and the perspectives from which we can interpret these individuals and their actions.
