Ivica Malčić is a contemporary Croatian painter born in 1964 in Zagreb. His paintings are based on urban life and urban legends. Making this film about Malčić the filmmaker wanted to explain the artist’s work to a wider audience, and explore what is now left of the influential atmosphere of the 1980s, when depicting urban life was a matter of honour for the painter and for an entire generation of Croatian artists.
