Factory to the Workers best documentary at Trieste Film Festival; awards to Petty Thieves and The Body in industry section

Factory to the Workers directed by Srđan Kovačević has been awarded Best Documentary Film at 33rd Trieste Film Festival, running in hybrid format until 30th January. In addition, Croatian director Mate Ugrin’s project Petty Thieves gets awarded in the co-production forum When East Meets West, while The Body, a project with Tamara Babun attached as the Croatian co-producer, receives an award in Last Stop Trieste.

Nikola Tanhofer’s digitally restored film H-8...  featured in Venice Classics 2021

The programme featuring restored film classics, the Venice Classics 2021, which could not take place on its regular dates in September of last year, will be held simultaneously to the third edition of Classici fuori Mostra, taking place 10th February – 26th May, every Thursday at 7 p.m., at Cinema Rossini in Venice. Director Nikola Tanhofer’s film H-8… is the first domestic title to be included in the prestigious Venice Classics and the Classici fuori Mostra programmes. In 2020, the film was digitally restored by the Croatian Cinematheque of the Croatian State Archives with the help of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. The restoration was done at studios Ater and Klik Film in Zagreb.

The experimental-documentary short, Places We’ll Breathe, created by artist Davor Sanvincenti is scheduled to appear in the programme available only to film industry professionals and the media. In addition, director Judita Gamulin will present her project Leave the Door Open at the Cinemart co-production market, while 25 FPS Festival producer and programmer Marina Kožul will be a mentor in Pro Hub. The International Film Festival Rotterdam is held online, 26th January – 6th February.
