You Carry Me on Netflix
Ivona Juka’s debut feature film You Carry Me is the first regional film to be offered on the world’s most famous VOD (video-on-demand) service, Netflix, which, has been available to audiences in most countries around the world since January.
“I am incredibly proud that You Carry Me is the first film from the region to sell its rights to Netflix. Croatian film has just gotten its biggest distribution in the world. Comparing to the limited distribution of Croatian films in European cinemas, which last maybe a month or two, mostly in art-house cinemas, our film will be available for the next five years to a wider public through Netflix,” said Anita Juka, the film’s producer.
The award-winning feature film You Carry Me is about three women fighting for acceptance, redemption and new opportunities. The film is written and directed by Ivona Juka, and the producer is Anita Juka. The film stars Lana Barić, Nataša Janjić, Nataša Dorčić, Helena Beljan, Vojislav Brajović, Sebastian Cavazza, Vedran Mlikota and many others. The cinematographer is Mario Oljača, the editor is Vladimir Gojun, the music is by Teho Teardo, the production designer is Ivan Ivan, and the costume designer is Ivana Zozoli Vargović.
The film is produced by 4Film and co-produced by Slovenia’s Vertigo/EmotionFilm and Serbia’s Sloan Film Productions, with support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Slovenian Film Centre, Eurimages, FS Viba Film, Film Centre Serbia, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Croatian Radio Television (HRT), and the tourism boards of the Cities of Zagreb and Split.
