Crime drama One Shot, directed and written by Robert Orhel will premiere internationally at the renowned Montreal World Film Festival, in the World Competition section. The film stars Ecija Ojdanić and Iva Babić in the roles of two women – a police officer and a student – whose lives intertwine after a random shot. One Shot was produced by Kinorama and Croatian Radio and Television and co-funded by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. By the end of the year, Croatian audience will have a chance to see it in cinema distribution by 2i Film.

Focus on World Cinema section will present another film produced by Kinorana – The Prettyboy by Saša Ban. This short film stars Nikša Butijer and Marina Redžepović as a couple whose relationship is jeopardised on the set of a commercial.

The same category will host the international festival premiere of I Love YU, written and directed by Irena Škorić. The story of this short film takes place in the coastal town Rijeka in the 1960s and 1970s and today, and the film’s leitmotiv is Dragan Stojnić’s song Bila je tako lijepa (She Was So Beautiful). The film stars Boris Pavlenić, Jelena Perčin, Lukrecija Brešković, Hrvoje Klobučar and Slaven Knezović, and it was produced by Artizana. The film description says: This film envelops the world of imagination, reality and memories with emotion. People, objects and images comprise a B-minor of love taking place then, now and forever.

This year’s edition of Montreal World Film Festival takes place 22 August – 2 September. Under the slogan The World is Yours, the festival will present 432 films from all over the world, categorised in 12 sections. More information about the festival can be obtained on the official website.
