Mother of Asphalt absolute winner at FIPA in French Biarritz
The prestigious 24th International Festival of Audiovisual Programs - FIPA in Barritz, France closed yesterday with the awards ceremony.
Dalibor Matanić's Mother of Asphalt won three out of six awards in Feature Film category: FIPA D'OR Grand Prize, FIPA D'OR Grand Prize for best actress (Marija Škaričić) and FIPA D'OR Grand Prize for best original soundtrack (Jura Ferina and Pavao Miholjević).
Dalibor Matanić, who travelled to Biarritz to the award ceremony yesterday, will be coming home with three gold prizes. For Marija Škaričić this is the second award for this film and she has also been selected to participate in the European Film Promotion's Shooting Stars program, which will be presented next month at Berlinale. This year FIPA has taken place for the 24th time, from 24 - 30 January, and its ambition is to present the best from independent, innovative, diverse and creative production.
Mother of Asphalt was produced last year by Kinorama and Croatian Radiotelevision. In Croatian cinemas the film is distributed by Continental film, and it had its international premiere a few months ago at Pusan International Film Festival. It will soon be presented at GoEast Festival in Germany and IndieLisboa in Portugal.
