Michaela Müller’s Airport competing at Toronto Festival
The animated film Airport has been selected to compete in the short programme of the 42nd Toronto International Film Festival taking place from September 7th to 17th. The film is a Swiss-Croatian co-production, and the Croatian co-producer is Kinorama.
Airport is one of 35 films which will compete in the Short Cuts programme. This year’s selection of films come from 30 different countries, are in 16 different languages, and 17 of them were directed by women.
The participants will compete for the IWC award for Best Film. The selectors are Jason Anderson and Danis Goulet. The jury includes Marit van den Elshout, director of the Rotterdam International Film Festival’s Cinemart, the Chinese-Canadian film director Johnny Ma, and Chinese film director Chloe Zhao.
Michaela Müller’s Airport won special mention at this year’s Animafest Zagreb for Best Croatian Minority Co-production.
The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the most important festivals in North America.
