FNE Europa Cinema of the Month: Kino Valli - Pula, Croatia
Kino Valli has for many years been a true gathering place for film devotees during all the seasons, thanks to a good concept and outstanding and interesting choice of films for everyone’s taste.
This popular cinema in Pula recently won an important international recognition. Film New Europe, an online publication and a website focusing on audiovisual and cinema industry in 18 countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics, named Kino Valli the movie theatre of the month (17 July – 17 August 2012), not only in Croatia, but in entire Europe. From 1 January to 30 June 2012, Kino Valli had 657 regular screenings of 127 feature and short live action, documentary and animated films. The total number of visitors was 36,712. Compared with the same period last year, the turnout increased by more than 20 per cent, thanks to numerous film hits, but also the continuous effort invested by FUŠ – Film u školi (in the first six month this year, 4,161 schoolchildren visited the cinema), as well as other film programmes and visits.
