Father in Clermont-Ferrand’s Official Selection
The short animated omnibus Father, one of this year’s most award-winning Croatian films, was included in the official selection of the 35th edition of the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, the largest and most prestigious festival dedicated to short film.
After being screened in official competition programmes of Annecy and Hiroshima and winning a dozen recognitions at animated film festivals, Father will be presented in the official selection of Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Father was produced by Compote Collective in co-production with Bonobostudio and Eyecatch Productions, and aided by Robert Bosch Foundation, Croatian Audiovisual Centre and Bulgarian National Film centre.
Father is a hybrid of animated and documentary film, whose five tales revolve around imaginary conversations between a child and his father. All the stories are based on authentic experiences of young people. The director and supervisor of the film is Ivan Bogdanov, and one of the directors is acclaimed Croatian animator Veljko Popović, known for the She Who Measures and Dove sei, amor mio, that was screened in last years' competition of Clermont-Ferrand.
The International Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand is the largest and most prestigious short film festival, receiving up to seven thousand submitted applications each year. The festival is accompanied by the largest short film market visited by producers, distributers, programmers and buyers interested in short film. Croatian Audiovisual Centre will organize Croatian stand at the market, with all the information about recent Croatian short film production.
