Croatian films, projects, filmmakers in industry section at 51st IFF Rotterdam

The experimental-documentary short, Places We’ll Breathe, created by artist Davor Sanvincenti is scheduled to appear in the programme available only to film industry professionals and the media. In addition, director Judita Gamulin will present her project Leave the Door Open at the Cinemart co-production market, while 25 FPS Festival producer and programmer Marina Kožul will be a mentor in Pro Hub. The International Film Festival Rotterdam is held online, 26th January – 6th February.

Accredited industry programme guests at the International Film Festival Rotterdam will have a chance to see visual artist Davor Sanvincenti’s new short, Places We’ll Breathe. The film will appear in the Short & Mid-length competition at IFFR.

The film is a visual essay that advocates imagination through a travelogue of constructed and anonymous landscapes, a note about the future of sorts. It speaks about loss, exploration, presence, vigilance, responsibility, awaiting and freedom.

Places We’ll Breathe is a Petikat production, with Bonobostudio acting as film distributor.

As IFFR has switched to an online edition due to Covid, the Short & Mid-length programme is one of many to have been transferred to the Press&Industry selection, available only to film industry professionals. The Dutch audience will have a chance to see about 50 titles in the “public” programme, while the film selection open to the public is available here.

The industry section at Rotterdam also features the co-production market Cinemart, with 28 projects participating this year. One of these is Judita Gamulin’s feature film directing debut, Leave the Door Open. The producer on the project is Rea Rajčić for Eclectica.

In addition, selected filmmakers and their projects will participate in the Pro Film Days platform, which will among other things include one-on-one meetings with expert mentors in the Pro Hub programme. One of the mentors will be 25 FPS Festival producer and programmer, Marina Kožul, who has been collaborating with IFF Rotterdam as expert adviser on short film since 2012.
