Croatian films at 61st DOK Leipzig
The feature documentary film On the Water, by writer and director Goran Dević, is screening in the international competition of the 61st Leipzig International Documentary and Animated Film Festival taking place from October 29th to November 4th. Dević’s film will have its world premiere in Leipzig, while another six Croatian films will also screen at the festival.
On the Water is a documentary film by Goran Dević, and is produced by Petnaesta Umjetnost, with support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. Dević’s film is in the international competition at DOK Leipzig.
Besides On the Water, which will have its world premiere at the German festival, DOK Leipzig visitors will also have the chance to see six other Croatian films.
Nebojša Slijepčević’s film Srbenka will screen in the international programme along with The Cure by Ana Opalić.
Screening in the same programme are Croatian minority and majority co-productions: Days of Madness by Damian Nenadić, (Croatian producer – Restart, co-producer - Petra Pan Film Production, Slovenia), the Croatian-Swedish co-production IKEA for YU by Marija Ratković and Dinka Radonić (Croatian co-producer – Croatian Film Association), and the Swiss-Croatian-German-Finnish co-production Chris the Swiss by Anja Kofmel (Croatian co-producer - Nukleus Film).
The DOK Leipzig international programme features renowned short and feature length documentary films with various themes competing for the audience’s endorsement.
Furthermore, from November 1st to 4th, Daniel Šuljić’s 1997 film The Cake will screen in the section highlighting creative animated films with a focus on people, life and death.
