Croatian Beneficiaries Keep EU Funding Tradition with Success
Creative Europe DESK – MEDIA Office with pleasure announces the first results of the public call of Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme.
Participating in the new Creative Europe Programme – MEDIA sub-programme, Croatian beneficiaries have successfully continued the tradition of winning funds. More accurately, the first deadline of the public call for festivals, development of individual projects and selective distribution ensured the total amount of € 198,000.
Based on the results of the first festival term (EAC/S32/2013), Croatian, at least by the number of approved festivals, took the high-ranking third place. Four film festivals won funds in the total amount of € 127,000:
Animafest Zagreb - € 25,000
Avvantura Festival Zadar - € 20,000
Motovun Film Festival - € 41,000
Zagreb Film Festival - € 41,000
Selective distribution programmes (EAC/S22/2014) first term ensured Croatian distributers the funds amounting to € 41,200:
Discovery d.o.o. - € 21,200
21 film d.o.o. - € 8,700
M.R.T.N. MEDIA d.o.o. - € 6,000
Continental d.o.o. - € 5,300
The public call for the development of individual projects (EAC/S30/2013) at its first term ensured the funds to Croatian company MaXima film d.o.o. amounting to € 30,000 for the project Osmi povjerenik, directed by Ivan Salaj.
Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency said that 'this project united the power of the creative team and a universal story and speaks to a broad audience. The plot features original and interesting characters, the development strategy is well elaborated, so its financial and distribution aspects reflect both the European and the international potential. The company’s experience in the production of feature fiction films and TV projects in Croatia and beyond guarantees successful realisation of the project ‘Osmi povjerenik’.'
