Croatia in focus at 28th Rabat International Author Film Festival 

The Moroccan festival celebrates its 28th edition, while this year the country in focus is Croatia, while the spotlight programme presents contemporary fiction feature titles. In addition, Bosnian Pot by Pavo Marinković is screening in the official competition, Bigger Than Trauma directed by Vedrana Pribačić and Mirta Puhlovski will appear in the documentary section, while Neven Hitrec’ Diary of Paulina P. will screen in the children’s film programme. The festival in Rabat runs 10th – 17th November. 

The focus programme, realised in cooperation with the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the Kingdom of Morocco, will present the Rabat audience with a selection of Croatian filmmaking, highlighting female directors.

The focus programme will showcase the following films: Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović’s Murina, Jasna Nanut’s Seventh Heaven, The Mystery of Green Hill by Čejen Černić, The Staffroom by Sonja Tarokić, as well as this year’s Croatian Oscar nomination contender – Traces directed by Dubravka Turić

The audience in Rabat will also get to see the premiere of Bosnian Pot directed by Pavo Marinković, which has been selected for screening in the official competition.

The documentary programme will likewise feature Vedrana Pribačić and Mirta Puhlovski’s Bigger Than Trauma.

The Mystery of Green Hill will appear in the thematic section dedicated to family films, while Diary of Paulina P. directed by Neven Hitrec is also screening in the children’s film section.  

Rabat International Author Film Festival (FICAR) is dedicated to brave, challenging, intelligent and radical auteur works that break down clichés. This year’s 28th edition takes place 10th – 17th November, and features films from 40 countries worldwide. The detailed program of the festival may be found at this link.
