Voyager is the first science-fiction film from Istria, created by Oleg Morović and Tibor Marko Jakulić of the ‘90Films collective and the Space for urban culture (Prostor urbane kulture) association from Fažana. The story is set in various locations across Istria, with a particular focus on the Višnjan Observatory. This 28-minute short film follows renowned Istrian astronomer Korado Korlević and his assistants; after spotting an anomaly in the night sky, they conclude that it is the Voyager space probe, originally launched into space back in 1977. The Voyager probe crashes into an olive grove in Majmajola, where it is discovered by two locals. The story takes place in the 90s drawing inspiration from Hollywood films of that era and was produced entirely using practical effects.
