*The Whisper of Mushrooms* is a lyrical, educational feature-length documentary that portrays the wondrous world of fungi through the eyes and experiences of Ervin Raguzin, a passionate mushroom enthusiast and educator. Through his work with the "Ožujka" association and his activities in Rijeka and the surrounding area, Ervin embodies and shares his knowledge of and love for fungi and nature. The film offers a lyrical glimpse into Ervin’s unique lifestyle, spanning his mountain cabin in Gorski Kotar, island life on Ilovik, and the various natural habitats where he spends most of his time. Through lectures, exhibitions, forest walks, and his own engaging personality, Ervin selflessly shares and expands public knowledge regarding fungi and biodiversity, while promoting environmental awareness and the ethics and culture of mushroom foraging. Beyond his deep personal connection to the mysterious realm of fungi, the documentary explores associated myths and legends, as well as the micro and macro worlds of nature, all brought to life through atmospheric cinematography and music.
