The film is inspired by the historic Battle of Lissa (1866), the first major naval battle involving ironclad battleships. The Adriatic Sea, a meeting point of different nations and cultures, is home and final resting place of many heroes. Leading deep-sea divers and underwater archaeologists lead the search for the wreck of the once legendary flagship of the Italian fleet, Re d’Italia.
