The film was inspired by the life of actress Romy Schneider. An actress herself, screenwriter Sandra Lončarić identifies with parts of Romy’s life, making Romy’s emotions her own. The film questions the influence of childhood and learned patterns of behaviour on adult life, as well as the destructive power of guilt and the importance of forgiveness.
