This 17-minute film presents an intimate portrait of Špiro Dmitrović, a man whom many Pula residents simply recognize from seeing him around town. Špiro is a familiar face in our city—a community figure who actively follows numerous cultural, social, and sporting events. Yet, what many do not know is that Špiro is also a man whose life was shaped by mining. A workplace accident ended his career in the mines; today, he is a retiree and an avid collector of mining-related artifacts. He creates various artistic works inspired by mining, often showcasing them at numerous exhibitions. Through his creative work, Špiro seeks to preserve the memory of his own life and of a profession that has all but vanished in Istria.
