Emir, a 36-year-old single father, has until the end of the day to submit his work-visa renewal. If he fails, he and his nine-year-old son Gabriel will be sent back to Bosnia. The day begins chaotically, at the tax office, Emir parks illegally, cuts the line, and is thrown out. They’re questioned by officers, miss an ID photo, and arrive late at the immigration appointment, where the file can’t be processed. With nothing left, they go to the sea. Gabriel watches his father closely, observing the rotting state in which they are, with the seaside paradise around them in antithesis to their state of mind.
