Mate Bakula, a middle-aged, slightly dilapidated director of an important Zagreb company, travels with his wife to his native island of Viševica to attend the ceremonial unveiling of a memorial plaque dedicated to the partisans of that area. During his stay on the island, Mat has memories from the past, about his partisan youth, his first love, that is, his first wife, and his own great enthusiasm for bringing electricity to the island, which the locals did not understand.
