Vigo is a young warehouse worker who spends his days at a job he dislikes, listening to his colleagues' petty schemes, while outside of work he scrambles to pay off debts, takes care of his younger sister, and maintains an increasingly difficult relationship with his single mother. When he meets Marija, a student from a privileged family, they begin a relationship that momentarily opens up a life beyond his reach. However, as problems mount and the illusion shatters, Vigo turns more and more to lies and theft. What begins as a means of getting by gradually grows into a pattern of exploitation from which he can no longer escape.
