On the border between Serbia and Croatia, a region still burdened by the ramifications of the bloody Yugoslav war, there is a pile of sand in the Danube that someone wants to turn into a new nation. In 2015, the micronation of Liberland was founded by a Czech politician who claims to have planted his flag in a no man's land. As the first president of Liberland, he is trying to shape his country. Is he driven by idealism or is he pursuing other, non-altruistic goals?
