This romantic tragicomedy is set on a Croatian island where the local postman has a secret habit: he enjoys reading his fellow islanders’ mail. When a mysterious beautiful young woman moves to the island, she disrupts the everyday life of the locals, captures the imagination of many men and forces the postman’s secret into the open.

Nikša Sviličić (1970) graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb in 1994. He also obtained a degree in journalism and museology. He received a Fulbright Scholarship for his postgraduate studies at the Harvard University and the University of Ohio. I Believe in Angels is his debut feature.
