Sretno dijete is a music documentary by Igor Mirković about the rise and development of the new wave movement in the former Yugoslavia during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The film is also a nostalgic and partly autobiographical journey through the director’s own youth, shaped by the music and cultural shifts of the period. Through interviews, archival footage, and personal reflections, the film reconstructs the vibrant and dynamic music scene that emerged in cities such as Zagreb, Belgrade, and Ljubljana. It features key new wave artists including Azra, Film, Haustor, Prljavo kazalište, Idoli, Električni orgazam, and Pankrti, who reflect on the era from a contemporary perspective. As Mirković travels across the former Yugoslavia and beyond, meeting musicians and figures from his youth, the film becomes both a portrait of a generation and a record of a time when music played a powerful cultural and social role.
