Dorotea Vučić (1973) graduated in art history and philosophy from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She completed a postgraduate course in film directing and screenwriting at the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance in Cape Town. Her student short film Wamkelekile (2008) was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Student Film, and was selected for competition programmes at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Vučić works as a screenwriter for film and TV and has written, directed and produced several short films.
