Documentary film follows two men from a Slavonian settlement Rajevo Selo. Tomislav and Joso are in their 50s and we find them living without their wives. Mostly in search of means for a better life, these women went to work abroad a few years ago. Abroad, they found new partners and moved there permanently. They are still married to their wives, but the marriage is realized only on paper.The director who is also the narrator and the protagonists of the film is Tomislav’s daughter. The story begins with her coming to her birth place to visit her lonely father and to find answers.

Every year, thousands of minor refugee children embark on uncertain and risky journeys, searching for safety on their own. To escape military recruitment and death, a fourteen-year-old boy flees from war-torn Aleppo with one goal – to become a support for his family, for whom he is the only hope of salvation. An unaccompanied minor refugee wanders along the dangerous Balkan route from Syria to Germany, seeking sanctuary while facing brutal realities and social injustices, exposing himself to difficult and inhumane conditions. In a Croatian transit camp, Khaled finds protection and support with volunteer Ena-Sanan. Despite adversities, bullying, isolation, cultural hurdles – he persists, driven by a dream of family reunification. On his journey, Khaled faces trials that transform him from a vulnerable boy into a beacon of hope for his family. After a long struggle, they manage to reach Turkey, where they spend several years in suspense and hope, striving to reunite with their eldest son and build a brighter future. As Khaled nears his 18th birthday, legal complexities threaten to derail his mission.

Father and son poets embark on a quest to figure out what hides between the lines of their relationship while exploring their bloodline and an old family myth of a possible kinship with the Hollywood legend. Recollecting their past home, which now exists only in old VHS tapes, Luka and Željko take a trip down memory lane, while also setting out on a path to discovering what the future holds for them. As they connect the dots of their family tree, a mash-up of very different characters is introduced, including a book-van librarian, an old farmer, a John Malkovich double from Croatia, and people from all over the world whose last name is Malković. But, digging up one’s family history always carries a certain risk – will father and son lose their relationship while trying to improve it?

David and Marina's relationship starts out idyllic, as the two fall deeply in love and decide to move in together. Marina is a talented painter finishing her studies, while David is a self-taught guitarist who plays in a band and works at a pancake stand. As their relationship progresses, they face numerous challenges, including a long-distance relationship, doubts about their individual ambitions, and bouts of depression. They also must navigate adult responsibilities such as caring for David's ailing father. They begin to make sacrifices for each other, but as time goes on, the compromises they make start to strain their relationship. One evening, a heated argument breaks out when David finds Marina's paint palette. Years of pent-up emotions culminate in a brutal confrontation, leaving both of them questioning the future of their relationship. The story captures a coming-of-age journey, with youthful and light energy juxtaposed against the claustrophobic feeling that arises as conflicts in the relationship intensify. Through editing, the film contrasts various moments from their past and present, highlighting the challenges and growth they experience together.

A group of children on the Adriatic island of Trs, led by newcomer Karlo, discover a lost African boy, Chiku, at the lighthouse. As they try to help him return home, local boy Bumbar opposes Karlo's unusual pseudo-scientific experiments. During a heated argument, Bumbar hits Karlo, losing the trust of the group. However, he redeems himself by helping to expose a smuggler trafficking children from Africa to the European Union, who tries to take Chiku away from them. The summer adventure concludes with the capture of the smuggler, bringing the group closer together.

A community of creatures lives happily in a garden, each with their own role to play. Their interconnected tasks create a cycle – and all require water from the fountain. But when a butterfly gets stuck in the fountain and blocks the water from flowing, the creatures become anxious and unsure of their roles. Working together, they find new ways to do their old tasks, using milk instead. Once the new rhythm takes hold, the butterfly flies away and water starts flowing again. With both cycles continuing, the garden now explodes with life, with more colors, sights and sounds than ever before.

To address this international issue, the most prominent residents devise a cunning plan, one that cannot be executed without harming some innocent victims.

The stormy sea almost immediately swallows him, and no one from the crew attempts to help. The Young Sailor is left alone, forced to drag him out of the water.Yet this endeavor proves to be futile, as the cruel sea returns that very same night to reclaim what she believes rightfully belongs to her.The Young Sailor is left alone and isolated, shunned by the crew for the act of saving someone. But the journey is not yet over, and there are only so many places to be on a single ship.

Taking Samuel Delany’s 1984 SciFi novel ‘Stars In My Pocket Like Grains of Sand’ as a point of departure, in a joint effort with other artists we’ve labored a work which is at once a dance, fantasy, and a queer road film. Its protagonists, animated by the weirdening landscape of the Dalmatian Hinterland and enraptured by the sound of the conch shell, partake in the melding tradition of Dragon Hunting. An exploration in somatics, media translation, mimicry, and the sensuous, Dragon Hunt is a result of mutual transformability exercised between fellow artist friends, the landscape, different machine learning algorithms and filmmaking procedures.

The care of Fatima was taken over by a strict but righteous grandmother who brought her to Dakar as a two-year-old girl to prevent the little girl's genital mutilation. Fatima's uncle wanted her to marry an unknown man as a third woman. There was no way she could agree to be one of the three, so she took matters into her own hands and earned the title of rebel in her family.

A documentary fairy tale with elements of a horror film.  Imbued with the eternity of platinum, combining the extract of golden caviar, fresh wild beech buds and Snow Cladonia, with the extract of the flower of the mysterious Australian plant known as the Kangaroo Paw, in synergy with the extract of dwarf cedar, which, despite the eternal ice in the void and rocky expanses of the taiga, grows by one centimeter each month… Like some magical elixir from a fairy tale, these inscriptions from various cosmetic packaging sound. There are a number of helpers from the youth and beauty industry – beauticians, perfumery saleswomen, promoters of cosmetic preparations, personal trainers, plastic surgeons… These are all people who make money from our discontent, on provoking our self-questioning and at the end on our self-loathing. In today’s narcissistic culture, old age becomes undesirable and old people almost invisible. We live in a paradox – we want to live longer and at the same time we do not want to grow old. The story that begins with our faces in the mirror closes with the reverse of our desire for youth.

The film depicts the lives of people in the Ravni kotari and Bukovica regions, just twenty kilometers away from popular tourist destinations on the coast. Houses in this area are in ruins, fields are overgrown with weeds, and many roads are impassable. There are no cafes, community centers, stores, or bus stops. In such a socially isolated area, wolves have appeared, lurking the herds and causing damage. Among the local population, there is no doubt - the Croatian government, in an agreement with Brussels, is intentionally importing wolves by helicopter to disperse the local population and build new wind farms and stone quarries.

So far, Željko Špoljar has published collections of stories "Teškoće pri gutanju", "Moj brat Felix Krull", and "Welcome to Croatia" in co-authorship with Kristijan Vujičić, for which he received the Kiklop award in 2006. Thanks to the novel "Gumeni galeb", Špoljar won the Matica Hrvatska Osijek contest for the best unpublished prose text in 2007. In 2014, he published the novel "Štakorbar" (Drago Gervais Literary Award), while in 2020 he published his last novel - "Petokoronaš". On the other hand, Pavle Svirac published the novels: "Literary Groupie", "Strovaljivanje", and "Kako biti hipster". Svirac has also been a columnist (“Nacional”) for several years, famous for the series of literary records "Šta se čita na jarunskoj nudističkoj plaži" and "Interlibdžija diary", while his Književna Groupie Facebook page currently has over 13,000 followers. The film follows Željko's relationship with Svirac as a personality, his relationship with his ex-wife Maja Hrgović (who until recently worked as a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, and since then as a taxi driver in Split) as well as his relationships with his daughter Nora, family, society, culture, publishing houses and the editor-in-chief of “Nacional”. Through all this, Špoljar/Svirac not only talks about domestic social dilemmas, problems, and conflicts, but also about himself as one of the most interesting phenomena of the contemporary Croatian cultural scene, in the context of local history, not so rare, "misfit" protagonists.

He roams deserted streets at night, always starting from a bar and eventually returning to the same one.

The traditional Baranja Carnival procession is held every year in February. On this occasion, the locals dress up as "lipe" (good spirits) and "ružne buše" (ugly masks). The "lipe" wear traditional Šokac folk costumes, hiding their faces beneath veils or lace, while the "ružne" wear animal pelts and horned wooden masks. The custom of chasing winter out of the village is traditionally followed by both the young and the old. So does Marta, a 15-year old girl on the brink of adolescence and sexual maturation. For the carnival, even those who don't come to the village so often arrive. So does Karlo, Marta's childhood friend. Their reunion will awaken forgotten childhood crushes, and every subsequent moment between them will suddenly turn into an unpredictable game of confusing hot and cold adolescent signals.

In 1991, on the outskirts of Tenja, Josip Reihl Kir - the chief of the Osijek Police Department, a man dedicated to negotiations and avoding war - was assassinated. Peacemaker is a story about the last few months of his life, in the dawn of the bloodthirsty Croatian-Serbian war, which Kir had been trying hard to prevent, told through the statements of a few witnesses and archive materials from the era. Still today, after over 30 years, many elements of that assassination remain unclear and the possible contractors - still unknown. Filmmaker Ivan Ramljak is one of the most significant Croatian documentarians, recognisable for his particular approach to historic issues.

During the first days of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, film director Oleh Sentsov joined the Ukrainian Defence Forces. In his role as an army lieutenant, he took part in a number of intensive battles - and during one, his BMP was destroyed by Russian artillery. In the aftermath, he  became embedded in nearby trenches and tried to organize via radio the evacuation of part of his unit. All the while his men were under  consistent attack, and eventually ran out of ammunition, making their evacuation all the more urgent. This military event on the Ukrainian-Russian front line positions was given the code name Real. This is the name of the film.

That moment of silence in a facility that is usually filled with sound is the starting point for the portrayal of a specific space and time. Revealing the beauty of the spatial and auditory narratives of an industrial space, in the absence of workers and work processes, contextualizes the frightening socio-economic consequences of the “silence” and “emptiness” phenomena. After months-long negotiations in the fall of 2019, production continues with an uncertain future.

Who would I be if I weren’t who I am? The strength of the mind and the ability to see the direction of one’s own purpose and to persist in realizing our full potential are the central themes of this documentary film, which forces the concept of physical paralysis to bow before the power of human spirit, will, and vision. Dino Sinovčić is a Croatian national paraswimming and wheelchair basketball athlete. He was born with arthrogryposis, a condition that caused his disability. Upbringing, willpower, effort, and investment in personal development led this young man from Split to professional sports and numerous medals, despite difficult medical forecasts. It all started in a children's swimming pool, and by 2009 Dino had won a European bronze medal, continuing on his path toward gold in the 100m backstroke. He set his sights on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, postponed to 2021, where he won a bronze medal in September. At the 2024 Paralympic Games, he carried the Croatian flag and won another medal. Stop Me If You Can is a film dedicated to the extraordinary strength of the human being. It follows the obstacles, psychological challenges, and personal dilemmas faced by Dino, his parents, and the professionals who support his mental and physical health, all in his pursuit of becoming the best version of himself — personally, physically, and athletically.

In a peaceful, but mysterious forest, a mother and a son live in harmony, until a strange serpent sneaks up on them, disturbing their peace. The serpent turns into a beautiful maiden and seduces the dim-witted son. Mother then goes into the forest to search for Stribor, a forest god, and ask him for help. However, when she finds him, things start to develop in an unexpected way and mother must gather all her courage and strength to save her son. This lighthearted interpretation of the story of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić plays with tradition and gives the original story a dark, but comical twist.

The film fast-forwards to the present day, where Zvone, now an adult, is struggling to care for his aging and increasingly demented father, Mate, and his young son, Duje. Haunted by his traumatic childhood, Zvone finds himself trapped in a cycle of caregiving and guilt. When Mate goes missing, Zvone is forced to confront the unresolved trauma of his past. As he searches for his father, he realizes that the trauma of his childhood continues to shape his present. The film explores themes of family, trauma, and the enduring effects of violence. Through the lens of Zvone's story, we see how the past can continue to haunt us, and how the bonds of family can be both a source of strength and a cause of great pain.

Film “The Feast” is the author's directorial debut in which the author, a fine artist, records the story of his immediate homeland - about Premantura and the nearby Cape Kamenjak. Although it is a protected and well-known natural area, the entire territory and aquatic environment is threatened with ecological and aesthetic devastation as a result of negligence and tourism frenzy. The author, as a passionate kayaker, paddles through the coves at the foot of Premantura - the southernmost Istrian village and, along with a handful of incredible landscape scenes, tells us amazing stories. They are mercurial, funny and sad, comic and dramatic. This somewhat subversive film is the author's dedication to summer, identity and homeland. The film was shot exclusively outdoors, during the day while the author was paddling, and in the evening in his summer studio in the garden. Most of the film was shot by the author himself with a borrowed go-pro camera. The film script was created spontaneously ‘on the fly’ and without fore-planning.

This documentary chronicles the final attempt at the reconstruction of the 'Seagull,' President Tito's ship used from the 1950s until his death in 1980, followed by the breakdown of Yugoslavia. It played a crucial role in enforcing peace between the Eastern and Western blocs and promoting the Non-Aligned Movement. The film provides insight into the unique sailor's life through the testimony of an officer involved in its concluding journey. While the ship is being reconstructed near the shipyard, the local population concludes a carnival-like ritual by symbolically burning an effigy. This symbolizes the end of winter and aims to dispel the perceived evils believed to have shaped their past.

Its colorfulness provides comfort and awakens optimism, and metaphorically by opening it, the conversation about their family story begins. With the mythical voice of Amira Medunjanin, combined with a contemporary live composition by Alen and Nenad Sinkauz and a newly written song by Monika Herceg, we create a new myth that seeks to shift the narrative. A 12-year-old boy, Vanja, has been catching and studying plankton for the past two years. He owns a professional plankton net and conducts scientific research under a microscope, studying both known and unknown species of tiny, almost invisible sea inhabitants. His research has already contributed to new scientific discoveries.

The Shoemaker's world had been destroyed by a deadly catastrophe. What was once his home had now become a shell of life that once occupied the empty, foggy valleys. Lonely Shoemaker spends his days creating his “Imaginary friend” out of socks he finds around his tower. During one of his ventures, he meets the Conductor, whose vision of the world will completely oppose the Shoemaker’s. During an unlucky misunderstanding when it comes to a shiny sock that once belonged to the Conductor’s daughter, both characters will be forced to face the trauma of the catastrophe that changed their lives.

Following musicians across Croatia, the film depicts the diversity of funeral practices and the accompanying music genres. These genres have changed through time, making it possible to even compile, as this film does, entire top lists.

At the end of the 19th century, Zagreb, with significant cultural advancements, the development of art, culture and science, during the challenging times of the rigid political rule of Ban Kuen Hedervary, but also thanks to the contributions of the same Ban and Dr. Izidor Kršnjavi, increasingly aligned with the cultural and living standards of European metropolises. In 1893, the great painter and traveler Vlaho Bukovac arrived in the city. The thematic framework of the documentary film VLAHO BUKOVAC: ZAGREB DAYS revolves around the parallel rhythm of the mutual (co)relationship and development of Bukovac and Zagreb. Zagreb successfully recovers and rebuilds from the devastating Great Earthquake of November 1880 (with comparable documentary records from the 2020 earthquake). Bukovac makes an indispensable contribution to shaping the artistic and cultural life of Zagreb at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries: he founded the Society of Croatian Artists, created the new "Colorful Zagreb School," contributed to the construction of the Art Pavilion, and painted three large patriotic paintings with national themes: "Gundulić's Dream" (University Library), "The Croatian National Renaissance" (curtain of the Croatian National Theater, which opened in 1895), and "Dubravka" (Dubrovnik), commissioned by Izidor Kršnjavi. The great painter arrived in Zagreb after the Great Earthquake, at a time when the city was shocked, ruined, and receptive to visionary ideas and progress. After they both received all they could from each other, Bukovac moved on. Today, Zagreb finds itself in a very similar moment. Whether a new visionary will come to the city this time, we will soon find out.

This historical-biographical movie based on the war themes in Dubrovnik and deal with an interesting phenomenon, but through an intimate presentation by Niksa Kuselj. The dramaturgical structure is intended as a story with three lines (chronological reconstruction, war diary and memories of Niksa Kuselj and the future of Niksa's daughter). The approach to the topic is extremely responsible because it does not place the events of the war in the context of the antagonism of the opposing parties, but in the context of growing up in a challenging times, of solidarity and hope for a better future.

A movie about a breakup. The narrative develops through the author’s conversations with his long-time partner, and follows the contemplation of the end of a nine-year romantic relationship. The sound design of the film is constructed using documentary techniques, while animation illustrates the psychological and emotional spaces of these 'breakup' conversations. To depict the randomness of subconscious thoughts and emotional states, the author experiments with visuals that incorporate elements of the surreal, making the connections between frames associative. The film reflects on the dual purpose of the artistic endeavor: compressing and archiving a portion of personal history in the medium of film and using it as a form of therapeutic self-exploration and experimentation.

The performances of fountains flow in the rhythm of poetic verses, while the light plays with the surface of the water, creating, through the play of boys, magical patterns and reflections. The play of light and darkness, the story seems to emphasize the complexity of human emotions and experiences. With the trembling of water that carries its own stories and melodies, the viewer is invited to a journey through the inner world of introspection. Each scene carries deep symbolism, depicting different aspects of the human soul. Through dynamic editing and music, the film encourages viewers to connect more deeply with themselves and the world around them. Robert (39), a writer, journalist, and alcoholic suffering from war-induced PTSD, manages to sleep with four women; get fired as a journalist and hired as a screenwriter; suffer burns and contract sexually transmitted diseases; become both a father and a godfather; get into fights and instigate two others; cause his friend to lose his job—and much worse... all in just four drunken days. Based on the novel, short stories, and poems by Croatian writer Robert Roklicer, the film—through dark humor and self-irony—explores PTSD, alcoholism, and a Croatian society devastated by war and the economic transition of the early 2000s.

Formed around four main stories, the film Woods that Sing combines visually impressive segments with the testimonies of female partisans. Nanica (18), who died during the war, left behind a diary. Marija (87) gave an audio interview a couple of years ago and we have her audio recording. Hilda (105) and Zdenka (96) passionately testify about their war and post-war experiences. The film searches for hidden feminine principles, forms and meanings in the stories that we know, that we think we know and that we have yet to find out – and it raises them a monument.
