HAVC Supported Five Finished Feature Live Action Films

At the 19th session of the Croatian Audiovisual Council, held on Monday 27 June 2011, a decision on co-funding five finished feature-length live action films was made. The films include Josef by Stanislav Tomić (Alka film), The Dark by Dan Oki (Kazimir association), Spots by Aldo Tardozzi (Kinoteka d.o.o.), Daddy by Dalibor Matanić (Kinorama d.o.o.) and 7 seX 7 by Irena Škorić (Artizana film).

The decision on co-funding was made pursuant to Article 8, Paragraph 3 of the Regulation on the procedure, criteria and timeframe for the implementation of the National Development Strategy of Audiovisual Industry, according to which the Head can, in exceptional and justified cases, at a producer’s request, seek artistic counsellors to revise the application of the project in the completed film category out of the deadlines laid down by the Regulation.

The largest funds, HRK 900,000 were granted to the history film Josef, directed by Stanislav Tomić, taking place during World War I. The feature narrative The Dark by the acclaimed Croatian experimental author Dan Oki was granted HRK 420,000; the film Spots, feature live action debut by Aldo Tardozzi, an urban drama of two friends, was granted HRK 400,000; the film Daddy, a family psycho-thriller directed by Dalibor Matanić and taking place in the province of Lika was granted HRK 380,000; while the feature narrative debut by Irena Škorić 7 seX 7, also the first erotic film directed by a woman was allocated HRK 100,000. A total of HRK 2,200,000 was spent on co-funding.

The premieres of the listed films should, depending on tomorrow’s final announcement of the films from the 58th Pula Film Festival National Programme, take place in mid-July, as well as screenings of Step by Step by Biljana Čakić-Veselič, Lea and Darija by Branko Ivanda, Koko and the Ghosts by Daniel Kušan, The Little Gipsy Witch by Tomislav Žaja and Kotlovina by Tomislav Radić, whose funds were allocated at previous HAVC public tenders, which means that this year the National Programme will screen a record-breaking number of films co-funded by HAVC.
