The place of abandoned views, nature and landscapes, the location in Lika near Perušić is the place of departure and return for Jelena. The distance created by emigration in search of a better life emphasizes the attachment to that landscape and to the past, stressing the impossibility of reversing the process and returning. Watching the deserted spaces recorded on the 16mm filmstrip, we reflect on the sediments of memory, on forgetting, karst, and cultivation of the land.
