Berislav Šipuš is a renowned composer, conductor, and the author of some of the most performed musical compositions in Croatia. During his prolific career he has worked as an accompanist for the Ballet Ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, a pedagogue, composer and conductor at La Scala in Milan, art director of the Music Biennale Zagreb, director of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, and art director of the Cantus Ensemble. A self-proclaimed neoromanticist, he says that music is both the truth and play. The film follows the creation of his ballet The Trial based on motifs from Franz Kafka's novel, which premiered at the 25th Music Biennale at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.
