Feature film production

We support the production of Croatian feature films and international feature film co-productions. We currently operate three feature film support schemes: Feature Films Support Scheme, First Feature Film Support Scheme and International Feature Co-productions Scheme.

The call for applications for Feature Films Support Scheme and First Feature Film Support scheme is open through the whole year.

Documentary film production

We support production of high-quality and distinctive documentary filmmaking, both feature-length and shorts, as well as documentary co-productions. The call for applications for feature-lenght documentaries and shorts is open through the whole year.

Short films

We currently operate three separate short films support schemes: for fiction, animation and experimental shorts, as well as international co-producitons scheme (minority co-productions). Short and feature animated films

Animation has a long and venerable tradition in Croatia, dating back to the mid 1950s and culminating in the work of the world-renowned Zagreb School of Animation in the 1960s and 1970s. After years of relative stagnation due to the war in Croatia and the specific challenges of a country udergoing transition to a market economy, things are looking up again.

We currently operate three funding schemes for animation: bi-annual feature-length animation scheme, annual animation shorts scheme and animation co-production scheme. The call for applications for the animation co-production scheme (films with minority Croatian participation) is open through the whole year.

Experimental film

The Experimental Film Funding Scheme was introduced in 2000. Since the introduction of the scheme, we have seen a steady year-on-year increase in the amount of overall funding available for experimental film and video. Between 2000 and 2007, more than 100 experimental short films and videos benefited from public funding for experimental films.
